Welcome to my world. I’m so glad you’re here.
What I do here is pretty simple. I’m hugely passionate about meditation and my aim is to help as many people as possible discover the life changing powers of mindfulness practices and a good, proper rest. I believe absolutely everyone can benefit from establishing a meditation practice and that resources to learn this powerful skill should be available to all.
I’m here to change your perception of meditation, to show you that it doesn’t have to be boring, disciplined, or upright-back-legs-twisted-lotus-position uncomfortable. I want you to know there are so many ways you can meditate, and that once you get the hang of it, it’s actually really enjoyable!
My signature style of meditation is unique as it encourages thinking, heightens creativity and improves productivity, all while providing deep relaxation and rest.
You may already know of the many benefits of meditation (your heart rate drops, your blood pressure lowers, aging slows down so you look and feel younger, you re-shape your brain, you improve your focus, attention, and memory leading to better decision making, you are less reactive, your relationships improve, you reduce your stress levels, and you can treat anxiety and depression, to name a few...) but perhaps you don’t think it’s for you or you don’t know where to start.
That’s where I come in! Meditation is for EVERYONE and every single person will benefit from it. You just need to figure out how to make it work for you.
My style is accessible and practical, there’s no chanting or rigid backs here, no yoga poses or crystals. My sessions are intimate, cosy and personal. They allow you to explore the mind and body without judgement or comparison. Everyone is welcome here.
A little bit about me.
I’m addicted to the ocean, obsessed with animals, and I try to see the best in everyone. I love adventure and I'm nomadic, never being able to settle in one place. I love coffee and hate the word superfood.
I’m not a healer or a guru. I’m not a Zen master or a yogi. I’m just a real person who has seen tremendous benefits from my regular meditation practice.
Discovering meditation changed my life. Rewind to my early 20’s, a time when I was lost, confused and deeply unhappy. I remember thinking that this was just my life and I would always be like this. I had zero confidence, I cried often and I let people treat me like rubbish because I had absolutely no self worth. I was uninspired and unmotivated, I lacked direction and purpose.
I had heard of meditation and thought I would give it a go to try and help my anxiety and insomnia. Although I liked the idea of it and knew it could be helpful, I struggled to get my head around the process and never knew if I was doing it right. I wanted to meditate but, somehow, every day it seemed to slip down to the bottom of the priorities list. (Sound familiar?)
It wasn’t until I discovered how to meditate on my own terms that it really started working for me. I threw away the rule book and started experimenting with different styles. I began meditating for the enjoyment of it. Making it fun meant I started to look forward to my meditation practice, meaning I was less likely to skip it. This was a revelation. All of a sudden I was meditating regularly but, not only that, I was being mindful throughout my day, living in the moment and not letting little things get me down.
Slowly, things began to change. My mood improved, my energy levels increased, I became more productive, and my relationships became stronger. More than that, spending time on my own through meditation, connecting my body and my mind with my breath, allowed me to discover who I was and what I really wanted. Instead of striving to be and do what the rest of the world wanted of me, I learnt the most valuable lesson: how to be myself. My self esteem flourished and it affected every aspect of my life. I started eating better, I exercised regularly (I went from someone who had never set foot in a gym to becoming a movement junkie) and I changed my profession to one that was more fulfilling, becoming a qualified personal trainer and a wellness coach.
But it was at the beginning of 2016 that I truly discovered the importance of meditation. I developed Rheumatoid Arthritis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of the joints. This inflammation is extremely painful and the pain is constant. It developed quickly and within months I'd gone from being someone who loved to balance on my hands and hang around upside down, to someone who struggled to walk or complete simple tasks like open doors, cut my own food or even dress myself.
Everything had changed. It was like a rug had been pulled from under me. My whole world shifted, and the chronic pain was unrelenting and exhausting. Thank god for my meditation practice. The mindfulness tools that I had developed over the years kept me strong and saved me from giving in to my illness. It allowed me to accept my circumstances, to acknowledge that they couldn’t be changed and forced me to learn how to flourish despite them. I began to see the silver lining, that my condition had forced me to slow down, to look after myself and encourage others to do the same. I never let my arthritis get the better of me and despite it, I’m able to live a full and happy life.
Throughout this time I saw other people around me going through similar challenges without knowing how to cope. I knew I had to help. While at first I was disappointed to have to give up my career in fitness, it soon became clear the universe had a different plan for me all along. It became my mission to show people how to use meditation to overcome their own challenges and since devoting my life to this calling, I've never looked back.
I think meditation is the single most important thing we can do for our health and wellbeing. Come meditate with me and let me show you how you can use meditation to change your life.
